ESL / Citizenship
Montebello Community Adult School offers every level of English language learning. Each student is evaluated for their current English speaking level and are then placed in the appropriate ESL class. They will advance as their language and conversation skills advance.
*Please note that an assessment test is required prior to enrollment.

The ESL program is for people interested in learning or developing how to speak, read and write English. The classes are in all levels of English that focus on speaking, listening, reading and writing. As you progress, you can continue to develop your fluency in English. You will have the opportunity to practice reading, writing, and your conversational skills in routine social situations with other students in the class. This course will help prepare you to understand and speak everyday English with confidence.
El programa de ESL es para personas interesadas en aprender o desarrollar el idioma de inglés. Las clases son en todos los niveles y se enfocará en la habilidad para hablar, escuchar, leer, y escribir. Mientras progresa, usted
continuará desarrollando su habilidad en inglés en un ambiente divertido y agradable. Tendrá la oportunidad de practicar leer, escribir, y conversar con otros estudiantes. Esta clase le preparará para entender y hablar inglés diariamente con confianza.​

Your community (Montebello, Bell Gardens, Commerce, Downey, East Los Angeles, Pico Rivera, and Rosemead) offers English as a Second Language (ESL) and citizenship preparation classes through MCAS (Montebello Community Adult School).
